Newborn | Family | Motherhood|

The first days & first year of your baby's life are such a special time!

I'm a Mother myself and understand that your new baby has needs. It’s a very nurturing time in the first few days and continues for the first few months of your baby’s life. I respect that their needs come first so it’s all about having you and your baby feeling relaxed and comfortable in your own home or on location.

Lifestyle Newborn sessions can take a little longer in between feeds or day naps so I am flexible with moving around your home or waiting on location to attend to the needs of your new baby and document as we go.

In your session you can including new siblings, fathers and fur babies in these sessions an we add a few outside shots when booking an in-home session. Newborn sessions should be made 8 weeks prior to your due date.

The Session

Your Newborn baby is best captured between 7-20 days old, they are relaxed & sleepy in this time. Babies from 3 weeks to 3 months can still have a newborn shoot but won’t be as sleepy and flexible so we capture lifestyle images for you.

The date of your shoot should be booked 8 weeks before your due date or c-section date, with an understanding that we can move the date if your baby arrives earlier or later.

We will arrange a time & day together (Fridays are for newborns )but open to weekends if available, I allow 90mins for a newborn session, these are booked for 10am or 1pm indoors and sunrise or sunset hours for outdoor sessions.

Where

In this session we work on what your baby will wear to be comfortable , I’m great at getting babies settled but can't always guarantee they will, so we work with how your baby is on the day and my style is lifestyle so we move through your home to capture you all in a range of different settings and outdoors is always a beautiful way to capture you all too.

What to wear

I advise to avoid clothing with black patterns, logos or bright colours, and choose plain, pastel or mid tone colours that suit my editing style for Mum and baby. We work together and talk about styling in your prep guide.

What to bring

Change of clothing for Mum, just encase you end up having to strip off which often happens, your Baby is captured naked in a nappy cover and close to you ,then just a plain jumpsuit with arms and legs out for all the tiny details.
