The first days & first year of your baby's life is such a special time!

I'm a mother myself and understand that a new baby has needs. It’s a very nurturing time in the first few days and continues for the first year of your baby’s life. I respect that their needs come first so it’s all about feeling relaxed and never awkward in your own home or on location.

Lifestyle newborn sessions can take a little longer in between feeds or day naps so I am flexible with moving around your home or waiting on location to attend to the needs of your new baby and click as we go.

I love including new siblings, fathers and pets in these sessions and a few outside shots are always an option when booking an in-home session.

When

Newborn babies are best captured between 5-15 days old, they are usually relaxed & sleepy in this time. Babies from 3 weeks to 3 months can still have a newborn shoot but won’t be as sleepy and flexible so we will most likely get more awake images.

The date of your shoot is booked from your due date or c-section date, with an understanding that we can move the date if your baby arrives earlier or later.

Closer to your session we will arrange a time & day (book ahead for a weekend or Sunday) but keep in mind I allow 2 hours for a newborn session, so morning sessions are more suitable. 

Where

In this session I bring all the props with me including heat bags and throws, I’m great at getting babies settled but can't always guarantee they will, so we work with how your baby is on the day and take time moving through your home to capture them in a range of lifestyle settings.

What to wear

I have a beautiful range of dresses for mums. I advise to avoid clothing with black patterns, logos or bright colours, and choose plain, pastel or mid tone colours for Mum and baby. We will talk about styling in your consultation.

What to bring

Change of clothing for Mum, Dad and Baby, snacks, drinks, toys and entertainment for the siblings all on hand.
